Most of Malta's resort hotels sit on the coast — around Sliema, St Julian's, Buġibba, Qawra and similar areas — while Ta' Marija is inland in Mosta, close to the geographic centre of the island. It's not a long drive by any measure, but it's also not a walk, and an evening that finishes at 10:30pm at night is not the moment to be figuring out a taxi from a town most visitors have never driven through.
